What Is a Flanged Segment?

A flanged segment is a penstock pipe section with flange connections at its ends. Flanges allow pipe segments to be bolted together and disassembled when needed for maintenance, repair, or replacement. This feature is critically important at valve and equipment connection points, turbine inlet sections, and locations requiring access. Technical Capacity and Specifications

Our flanged segment production covers DN300 to DN3000 diameter range. Pipe body wall thickness 6-50 mm, flange thickness 15-120 mm. Flange rings are custom-bent using flat bar bending, then machined on vertical lathe for weld preparation, sealing surface, and bolt holes. Flange-to-body weld is full penetration with 100% NDT inspection. Production complies with EN 1092 and AWWA C207 flange standards.

Quality Assurance

Sealing and surface quality are particularly important in flanged segments. Flange faces are machined to Ra 6.3 or better surface finish. Bolt holes are drilled on CNC machines for precision tolerances. Flange-body weld seam receives 100% UT, body longitudinal seam 100% RT inspection. Hydrostatic leak testing is applied to each segment.
